I got my start at the University of CT at Storrs with a BS in Computer Science Engineering back in 1987. I was first hired by Digital Equipment Corporation into their Networks and Communications organization. There I worked on some of the first fiber optic network backbone products that led to what we now know as the World Wide Web.

I've also worked at a few financial companies, even on the trading floor at one. There we had to provide responsive systems that could execute trades as quickly as possible.
