"I have a Ph.D. in American history from Duke University and a law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I was a law review editor, and following my graduation I stayed on at UNC to teach first-year legal methods (research, writing, advocacy) for several years.

I have taught in law school and at the undergraduate level for thirty years and have published many books and scholarly articles, and I did well on the Georgia Bar exam (MBE 157). As a professional educator, I have an extensive background in teaching that most practicing attorneys cannot hope to match.

In addition to my law school background, my specialization is American constitutional and legal history, which I've studied and taught to others for thirty years.
