"I'm Kellin! As an impassioned artist, I aim to help students in their creative endeavors, and ensure their success by providing a safe space for them to explore and develop their ideas. I graduated from Art Center College Of Design in 2024 with a Bachelors degree in Entertainment Design, and have studied animation and visual storytelling for over six years.
During my time at Art Center, I worked as a peer coach and writing mentor, assisting college students in both visual development projects and creative writing endeavors. I ensured success by meeting students at their level and listening to their needs, giving critique and guidance, and going the extra length by having office hours outside of my scheduled time. On average, I would host five to six remote sessions, lasting roughly one hour. Typically, my sessions would start with asking the student what they'd hope to accomplish during out session, then we'd outline their top priorities to make sure all their major concerns were addressed during our session. Appointments were largely students seeking proofreading help with their essays and brainstorming creative ideas for projects such as script writing and portfolio development. I always made sure to begin with positive feedback.
In addition to mentoring, I also worked as a teaching assistant (in person) for 2D animation and concept design. In that role, I assisted the teacher in grading assignments, conducting critique sessions, teaching software, and assisting the teacher in any other areas they needed assistance. Typically, classes would last five hours, but I also made myself available after class and during the week to the students in case they needed extra support.
I love helping students and want to do whatever I can to help and support their needs! From learning new software to navigating narrative development, I aim to help in all things creative & inspire a new generation of artists." less...
