"Hi, I'm Max – I'm a professor at Duke University where I teach the New Ventures series of courses to MBA, graduate, and undergraduate students.

My courses are designed to help student founders start, develop, and scale their ventures through lectures, guest speakers, in-class presentations and extensive hands-on workshops. In addition to covering traditional business content (marketing, sales, financing, financial modeling, product development, management, and everything between), I equip students to successfully de-risk and fund their ventures. Students who took my courses over the last year (2023) have since secured >$6MM in capital and are running sustainable businesses.

My career in entrepreneurship education began after graduating from Duke with a BS in mathematics. I decided to immediately pursue entrepreneurship, starting a B2B software company and transforming it from an idea into a 25-employee business. Throughout that journey, I stayed connected and involved at Duke University as a volunteer entrepreneurial coach and advisor to student founders. Upon selling my company, I was offered a formal professorial position at Duke – which is where I am today!

I'm here because I love educating people of all ages on the fundamentals of business, and how to apply academic knowledge in the real world.
