"Hi, I'm Anila! I have a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Southern California, and have been a Psychology Adjunct Professor for over 20 years. Additionally, I am a tutor in English, Grammar, Literature, and Proofreading.
In Psychology I offer tutoring and test prep on the subject itself, summaries and discussion of research articles you may be assigned, and input for APA-style papers.
I graduated with Honors at the age of 20 from the University of California in Irvine, with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Minor in Social Ecology (Emphasis in Criminology), so have a background in Political Science and Sociology as well. I have published in various prestigious academic journals.
I incorporate my diversity of experiences in both teaching and tutoring in various subjects. Specifically, I will ask the student ahead of time what the topic of interest is, gather any information they may already have from their course (worksheets, etc.) and have a lesson plan ready for the tutoring session. I adjust based on individual needs and always leave time for questions. For example, in the general topic of “Attribution Theory,” a student may let me know ahead of time they want to spend time mainly on Just World Hypothesis. I will prepare a lesson plan on Attribution Theory but begin the session covering Just World Hypothesis in detail before cycling back to the broader topic of Attribution Theory.
I am easy to reach, have a very flexible schedule during the summers, and am regular availability year-round. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson." less...
