"I am a distinguished professor of chemistry and have taught chemistry at the college level for over 30 years. I have a Ph.D. in Inorganic/Analytical Chemistry and a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering. I also have an Online Instructor Certification from my university to teach online courses.

I have extensive teaching experience with General, Inorganic, Analytical, and Environmental Chemistry courses. I am known for my clear, well-organized lectures and my attention for details. My goal in every teaching opportunity is to simplify complex chemical concepts into enlightening experiences for my students at all levels. My teaching philosophy involves building a partnership with my students while guiding them through the learning process on how to learn chemistry concepts and apply them to problems. Mastering chemistry involves learning the concepts and not just finding answers to problems. I make sure my students understand the concepts involved by giving them the foundation to critical think and solve any problems that they may encounter.

My research efforts include patents, development of online homework systems, authoring textbooks, grants, and numerous publications and presentations. I also hold a U.S. patent in complexing heavy metals with bagasse (sugar cane by-product). My contributions to academia have been recognized with several awards, including the Presidential Award for Teaching Excellence, and I have been listed in the Who’s Who Registry Among Executives and Professionals and Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.

Included with every one-hour tutor session is one week access to my homework system which includes PowerPoint slides, videos, practice questions with feedback, and my textbook so that my students can continue working on the concepts that we covered during each session. I look forward to working with students at any level and helping them succeed in General Chemistry I and II." less...
