"Hello, I'm Cameron! I graduated with University Honors from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (Biochemistry Track) with a minor in Mathematics. I am a former UCF Student Academic Resource Center Peer Tutor in Organic Chemistry 1, in which I have a full year of experience. I would tutor small groups (10-15 students)
in addition to providing 1-on-1 sessions. Through this I also became a CRLA Level 1 and 2 certified tutor, specializing in the Socratic method and how to tackle tough college courses such as Organic Chemistry.
My tutoring approach centers around the student; they dictate how the session is run, and I provide the guidance needed to fully comprehend the material. This is the central idea around the Socratic method, I provide simple guiding questions that allow learning to be a fun and engaging experience. Questions can seem intimidating but I always provide in-depth explanations for harder concepts, as well as different vantage points and analogies to further comprehension of the material. I also allow my students to complete practice problems in which I can adjust the difficulty or explain step by step as needed.
I strive to provide easy-to-understand approaches to some of the most difficult classes pre-med/STEM majors have to take, and therefore I welcome any feedback or suggestions from students. I am easy to reach and provide fast responses to inquiries. Feel free to contact me with any questions or if you want to schedule a lesson!" less...
