"I recently retired from the National Park Service (NPS) as a Park Ranger and Superintendent. As a Park Ranger, I spent the first 15 years of my career in charge of leading tours, conducting educational programs and giving formal evening programs to groups ranging in size from 50-400. I also spent 3 1/2 years as an NPS Instructor at a training academy. The last 15 years of my career was spent as a Superintendent at various NPS sites across the country. As a Superintendent, I was required to speak in front of employees, civic organizations, and legislators. In addition, I spoke at formal services and special events for audiences ranging in size from a couple of hundred to over a thousand.
In order to be successful at anything you do, it is important to be able to speak to people and to connect with them on a level that makes your presentation a success. I can help you learn how to do that in a very systematic way, and have found that the more you are prepared, the more comfortable you are.
