"Hi there, my name is Tuling. I am a senior software engineer with 10+ years of experience spanning across multiple companies (LinkedIn, Amazon) and 5+ years of experience as a tutor. Educationally, I hold a Bachelor's in Computer Science with a 3.7 GPA from Caltech and I'm currently pursuing a Masters in Data Science at UCLA.
You may wonder why I want to spend my time tutoring here and the reason is simple; I love leveraging my experience to help those around me others grow and conquer problems. My goal is to create a supportive and fun learning environment where students can feel confident in themself. As someone who's received plenty of guidance to be where I am today, I understand the importance of having a good mentor in one's journey.
As an engineer, I have worked on diverse software engineering and AI/ML projects ranging from backend development to using machine learning to improve LinkedIn's job search model. My expertise lies in Java, Python, machine learning, and computer programming fundamentals. As a former interviewer, I'm also happy to help those prepare for engineering interviews.
As a tutor, I have assisted multiple professors during my undergraduate program at Caltech as a teaching assistant. I hosted office hours and taught classes to my fellow college students. At work, my experience teaching never ended as I became a mentor to multiple interns and new hires, teaching them the ropes of how to succeed in the workplace. Currently, I'm a Microsoft TEALS volunteer where I assist high school teachers in their classroom and tutor high school students on AP Computer Science classes.
Having received a 800 on SAT Math and 5's on AP Calculus, I'm also confident in helping others in the math discipline (SAT Math, ACT Math, Algebra, Statistics, Calculus).
These days, I'm looking for ways to combine my professional and academic experiences to help you as well. Together, I hope we can form a team to help you achieve your goals." less...
