"Hi, I’m Chiffon! I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, with minors in Psychology and Medical Humanities and Culture. I graduated in May of 2024 with leadership distinction in research from the University of South Carolina. After the passing of my sister, I took on the responsibility to ensure my niece’s personal and academic success. Assisting with her homework everyday became very rewarding for both of us, which inspired me to tutor other family members and students in my neighborhood.

I have about 2 years of volunteer tutoring experience. I have worked with 6 students, aged between 4 and 16 years old. I provide homework help, extra practice, and have contributed to significant improvement in student’s grades in various math classes, such as Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1. During the initial tutoring session, I identify the student’s academic needs, which I use to create an appropriate and flexible lesson plan. I love to identify the student’s personal interests to make learning fun and reinforcing for them!

I recently passed my RBT exam and became a registered behavior technician. I have the valuable opportunity to work with children with autism every day by implementing individualized behavior plans to help them acquire skills and reduce maladaptive behaviors. With this training, I also offer services for special needs children and RBT exam preparation to individuals striving to become an RBT.
