"I have taught in public, private, and charter schools for over 20 years, and I have been a private tutor for six years now, specializing in Reading and test preparation. I always work to individualize tutoring plans to ensure students receive the maximum benefits using various techniques, such as multimedia sources, technology, and the latest teaching materials. A key element in tutoring is the connection a tutor makes with a student which gives him/her intrinsic motivation to want to improve and realize that learning is fun. I specialize in ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages), reading and hold state licenses in (ESOL) and Language Arts. In addition, I have done SAT test preparation as well as review for state school assessments. I have developed many effective study strategies for students from personal teaching reflection and using good teaching practices. I've had a variety of experiences that include teaching overseas and learning foreign languages such as Spanish and Portuguese.
