"I was prepared for teaching in Penn State's prestigious educator training program, The Professional Development School (PDS). During this time, I co-taught tenth grade English for both applied and advanced sections. While participating in this program, I was also a full-time graduate student at the university. Despite the rigorous expectations of my program, I obtained a 4.0 GPA along with my Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

My teaching approach lies in the power of learning lenses, which are different types of connections that allow us to interpret the world around us. The lenses I use when teaching literature are text-text, text-self, and text-world. Essentially, we comprehend all things through these basic connections by forming comparisons between our prior experience with other texts, with our actual lived experience, and with different perspectives from around the world.
