My teaching approach lies in the power of learning lenses, which are different types of connections that allow us to interpret the world around us. The lenses I use when teaching literature are text-text, text-self, and text-world. Essentially, we comprehend all things through these basic connections by forming comparisons between our prior experience with other texts, with our actual lived experience, and with different perspectives from around the world.
