"I hold a permanent New York State teaching certification in Social Studies 7-12. And I taught Social Studies for 28 years. During my career, I was tenured in each of the three districts where I taught.

I have been teaching in the classroom and beyond for over thirty years. My specialty area is Social Studies. I also like teaching literature and writing. Most of all, I like teaching students.

Over the years, I have known some very inspiring young people who worked hard to accomplish learning that they had not previously imagined. Watching learners grow and develop intellectually is the best reward for a teacher.

In approaching subject matter, I believe that all things are related and I strive to help students see the connections. This is the basis of a well rounded education which goes beyond knowing to understanding.
