"After retiring from teaching I was employed by my local church as Coordinator of Children's and Family Ministries where I worked extensively with the children and families of the congregation both one on one and in groups. I am currently a professional organizer specializing in coaching students in organizational and study skills, working with families on organizational skills, and tutoring children in a variety of subjects. I have 6+ years experience working with students Grades K--9 in face to face situations. I have been tutoring groups of students in China in reading and speaking English using children's literature and ESL techniques for the past 2 years using which is similar to Skype. I am quite comfortable with online face to face instruction. Working with students and watching each one succeed is my passion.
I love spending time with our children and grandchildren. It is so wonderful to not only play with the grandchildren, but to see their eyes light up when we make special discoveries together. I have a Bachelor of Science in Education from The Ohio State University and a Masters in Education with an Elementary Education emphasis from the University of Dayton. I have also completed an additional 30 semester hours of study in several areas of Elementary Education from The Ohio State University, University of Dayton, and Ashland University. I hold a permanent license from the state of Ohio for Grades Kindergarten---Grade 8. I taught for 18 years in Groveport-Madison Local Schools in Ohio where I was actively involved in the development of individual courses of study at both above and below grade. Because I feel it is important when working with children and families, I maintain current Ohio BCI and FBI fingerprinted background checks. Student organizing is supported by my membership in the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO and Ohio NAPO).
