"As an educator for 20 years, I have developed a passion for helping children learn how to read. My philosophy as an educator is focused on the belief that all children can learn to read. Children learn best when they feel comfortable and encouraged. It is my priority to create an environment that will allow each child that I work with to grow as an individual. AS I strive to create an environment that will allow each child to grow, I also will do my best to create an open and active atmosphere, so that the students and I can have fun while we learn. The environment in my classroom is warm and welcoming to all students.

I have a Master's Degree in Education with a focus on Reading and Literacy. In addition, 18 years of teaching experience teaching Kindergarten through 4th grade. Currently, I am a full-time Reading Teacher for Kindergarten through 4th grade for the past 3 years. My passion is helping children learn and love to read.

The first step in helping children reach their fullest potential is assessing their skills. I will use a balanced literacy approach to give them opportunities to learn and grow at their instructional level. I will use a balanced literacy plan that includes the five components of literacy. I will implement interventions to get my students on grade level. If students are excelling, I will implement challenging lessons to keep them interested and challenged at their individual instructional levels.

The environment of my classroom will be warm end welcoming to encourage my students to work to their fullest potential. Through my enthusiasm and expertise, I will be sure the children I teach are motivated to do their very best.
