"Hi, I'm Eileen! I have taught English for 2 years and have been tutoring students from elementary school through college for the last 7 years. After I graduated, with a degree in English and a minor in business and Spanish, from a rigorous liberal arts university, the University of Dallas, I taught for English and reading for two years while attending the University of Notre Dame to obtain my masters in education. While taking my masters courses, I studied pedagogy in a top tier program and learned how to best serve students from different backgrounds, at different levels, who learn in unique ways. Through my teaching experience, I worked with a number of students with learning differences and helped them succeed in reading and writing despite those often being their worst subjects. I have also worked with students who were emerging bilinguals, or learning English as a second language.

I love working with students. I love breaking open texts and breaking down the intricacies of language with young people. I enjoy helping them find different ways to view the world and themselves. I think one of the most rewarding parts tutoring is seeing students' writing improve over time and through their writing seeing their thinking become more clear and focused. As a lover of words and languages, seeing others learn how to use language to their advantage is a blast for me.
