"Hi! I'm Hana. I'm an experienced educator with a background in Fairfax County Public Schools. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Technical Writing, MEd in Curriculum Design, and have a VDOE certification in elementary education. I've worked with diverse learners, managed classrooms, and developed engaging, differentiated lessons to support students’ academic success. My classroom experience ranges from grades 2-6, and I specialize in curriculum design for reading and writing. I have over 10 years of experience tutoring elementary students, one-on-one, in reading and writing and have run numerous book clubs with up to five students per group doing various project based lessons.

I run a book club type of reading and writing session (focus is dependent on what the child needs). Some students read individually as homework and then do the comprehension / short writing during the session and some students read along with me during the session (to practice read alouds and listen to modeling), as I shorten the writing portion and focus on discussion on story elements and development. The style of the sessions depends on the need of the student support or enrichment.

I tailor lessons to meet each student's unique needs, focusing on interactive, student-centered learning through differentiation, scaffolds, and routine.
