"Hello!!! I am ready to expand your knowledge on any elementary topic you would like help on in a fun and entertaining environment. I love teaching one-on-one in a tutoring setting. I have a music education degree and found out what I really wanted to be when I grew up was a tutor when I had the chance to help out with reading in first grade for a semester.

I have a teaching degree and have helped multiple students in math in a one-on-one setting. I have helped students that just needed a little extra push to meet grade level and some that needed to be pushed to their fullest potential. I have a love for teaching and teaching individuals is my strong suit. Common Core can be a struggle but I have seen students who struggled with math that were introduced to Common Core and new math in 5th grade and all of a sudden it just clicked. I know it looks confusing to those of us that were used to memorizing math facts but the estimation makes it much easier for kids to do math in their head for the long haul.

I have considered homeschooling myself and have a child with ADHD. We do a lot of one-on-one work to help her keep up at school. Many reward systems that we use at home are also helpful when I am tutoring. Spelling is a fun subject to teach at any level. When a student spells the word they have struggled with correctly for the first time and you can see the gleam in their eye of accomplishment it melts my heart.
