"Hi prospective students and parents! My name is Sophia, and I am 23 years old. I graduated cum laude from Boston University last year with a Bachelor's degree in Film and Television, and I am currently pursuing my certification in American Sign Language interpreting at Ocean County College.

I offer tutoring services across a diverse range of subjects for students from kindergarten through high school. While I am just beginning my tutoring career, I gained valuable skills while assisting my neighbor's children, ages 5 and 7, during their online classes throughout the pandemic. I had the opportunity to tutor and babysit them for an entire school year, which taught me the importance of patience and how to effectively direct their focus on academic tasks. Additionally, I believe that incorporating fun into learning can significantly enhance the educational experience.

My approach is to foster a supportive environment where students can view me as an older sibling guiding them with their work rather than merely another teacher. For high school students, I can relate to their experiences, as I recently completed similar courses myself. My personal experiences combined with tutoring my peers in high school and college has made me recognize that involvement in extracurricular activities such as sports and clubs is vital, and I am confident in my ability to help students excel without feeling overwhelmed by their academic commitments.
