"My name is Michela, I am a clinical nutrition manager at a community hospital here in Massachusetts. I am a registered dietitian and have worked within the nutrition field for 6 years. I teach dietetic interns at the hospital every year and it is one of the parts of my job that I look forward to the most. I work with these students one on one for several months and teach them how to apply the nutrition knowledge they have learned in school to the position of being a dietitian. I have my masters degree in nutrition and one day plan to complete a doctorate so that I may teach at the collegiate level. Currently I am a guest speaker yearly at many different schools in the Lawrence MA area and will be a guest lecturer at the University of New Hampshire this spring.

My teaching style is very tailored to the student. I have worked with many different personalities whose interests in nutrition have been varied. I enjoy getting to know the student so that I can better understand the best way they can learn. Whether this is through visuals, discussions, reinforcement etc. it is important to me that the student walks away from their time with me feeling like they have expanded upon their knowledge base." less...
