Since that time, I have worked for a number of registered broker-dealer firms as well as SEC registered investment advisory firms. I currently hold six securities licenses. I currently work in a compliance and supervisory role with a large investment firm. My daily tasks entail ensuring that my network of advisors (approximately 300) are conducting their businesses in a way that is compliant with all regulatory, federal, and state laws.
Since my initial securities registration in 2011, I have tutored several students (primarily in 1x1 environments). These students are either in the process of obtaining their first securities license; or have been recently registered and desire to further develop their understanding of more complex topics as they relate to their roles. Most of my students in the past have been in their early 20s to early 30s.
I believe any tutoring relationship starts with identifying the student's initial level of understanding. It is also crucial for the tutor to be welcoming and to proceed at a pace that is comfortable and coherent to the student.
