"I have always enjoyed learning and education. I remember as a kid helping classmates understand certain concepts and having a feeling of satisfaction knowing I could teach something to someone else. My thirst for education has never ended. I grew up, went to college, studied electrical engineering for my undergraduate degree and worked designing computer chips for companies like Motorola and IBM. I eventually went back and received my master's degree in electrical engineering and worked at Samsung. After 15 years of designing chips I decided to take a break and started working at the Boys and Girls Club as a Youth Development Professional. It was the most rewarding job I have ever had. I got to do what I have always enjoyed the most, educating others.
Through my education, I've taken many advance math courses like Calculus and Differential Equations. My focus when working with students is currently Elementary Math, Algebra I, II, Geometry, and SAT/ACT test prep.
As an engineer, I have very high ethics. Honesty if very important to me and I respect honest feedback. If I am not the right tutor for you just let me know, no hard feelings. The goal is to get you the help you need as soon as needed to help you learn the relevant material to prepare you for a good future.
I am currently going to school myself to start a new career so my schedule is flexible but I realize that things do come up. I don't need a lot of advance notice for cancellations and rescheduling is always an option.
I have tutored on and off my whole career but working at The Boys and Girls Club really got me hooked on education again. While there, I would help students with their homework, teach the math and science curriculum and be a positive role model for kids. I enjoy educating and am very patient with students. I teach students to be efficient in their work. Learning with examples is one of the best ways to learn. I am also currently working as a math tutor at Austin Community College were I focus a lot on College Algebra tutoring.
