"Hi there, I'm Jace! I graduated from Colorado Mesa University, cum laude, with a bachelor's degree in English Writing and a minor in mass communications. I spent my last three years at CMU tutoring peers at the on-site learning center; however, I first began tutoring in high school. Currently, I am the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel's Health & Wellness Reporter.

I excel in tutoring any aspect of the English language for nearly every application: middle school, high school and college courses; ACT and SAT testing; public speaking; ESL. I strongly believe in conversational and collaborative learning, practicing for perfection and habit-building.

As the oldest of two sisters – one with a learning disability – I learned an array of approaches to learning and communication as I grew up helping them with their homework. I began tutoring in my junior year of high school through a class that paired upperclassmen with freshmen and sophomores who were struggling in their classes. That invaluable experience taught me many of the barriers students can face and how to navigate them. Moreover, I learned to establish motivation and rapport with students, even the apathetic ones.

My time tutoring at CMU ranged from introductory English classes on literature and writing to upper-division classes on English Grammar and literary theory. I had the privilege of working with many peers on a consistent basis for as long as two years; the opportunity has shown me just how much one person can grow with the right attitude and approach.
