"Hi there, I am Addison! I graduated magna cum laude, with a Bachelor’s degree in Medical and Molecular Biology, and received the award for Outstanding Biology graduate. I was a member of a rigorous academic program, the Honors Program, where 20 students from each class were selected and enrolled in higher level basic courses, such as Speech, Sociology, and Composition. After graduation from college, I attended medical school to acquire my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. I graduated in May of 2024 and am currently in my residency for family medicine. During my undergraduate education, a foundation was laid allowing me to see that every student learns in their own way and they just need to find the way that works best for them. I began tutoring while in college and implementing some of this into my lesson plans, tailoring each approach to the student’s best learning style. When I got into medicine, I began learning more about psychology and how students learn and retain information. I began applying these tactics to my study plans and really saw my students flourish.
I have been tutoring intermittently for 10 years. I have always primarily worked with students in a 1 on 1 setting, so I can assess their learning style and adjust lessons accordingly. The subjects I have tutored students in has ranged from Latin to Molecular Genetics. I have found myself to be most comfortable with Anatomy, Physiology, Psychology, and Biology, as I received A’s and above in these courses through college and medical school.
Regardless of the subject, I strive to help my students find how they learn best, in hopes that they develop the skills they need to become self-sufficient and confident in their abilities." less...
