"My educational background includes graduating from high school in 2013 with a 3.9+ non-weighted GPA, from Brigham Young University in 2020 with a 3.75 GPA and two bachelor degrees in Family Life: Human Development - Biological Foundations of Human Development (BS) and Spanish Studies (BA), and from the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine cum laude and with Global Health Honors (MD). While enrolled in medical school, I was involved in many volunteer service organizations, leadership, tutoring, and teaching positions. I was also inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha, Alpha Sigma Nu, and Gold Humanism honor societies. At the conclusion of medical school, I was thrilled to match at one of the top 25 ophthalmology residencies in the country.

Regarding my previous tutoring and teaching experience, I worked as a Spanish teacher for one-and-a-half years after living in Mexico for 2 years. In this role, I taught classes of 6-10 students between the ages of 18 and 25, and also tutored these students one-on-one. After teaching Spanish to small classes and in one-on-one settings, I became a workshop trainer, teaching workshops ranging from 20 to 120 students. After taking the MCAT, I had the opportunity to work as an MCAT tutor for 2 years for Altius MCAT Test Prep where I led group sessions and tutored students in individual settings. These experiences collectively taught me how to tailor my teaching according to class size, class structure, and individual student needs. Along the way, I have also accumulated methods and approaches to build a positive and collegial rapport, gauge student commitment level, and get at the root of specific issues impeding student learning, progression, and success.
