"I am a retired college professor of undergraduates and graduates who has taught speech science, anatomy and physiology, and phonetics for over 25 years. I have also prepared future speech-language pathologists by teaching, voice disorders, motor-speech disorders, and cleft palate. I have taught in the classroom and have spent 100 or more hours working with individual students during scheduled and unscheduled office hours.

Everyone has a different learning style and I will work with you to find those approaches that will complement your personality. I also will share with you ways to help you memorize material. I have a large number of short videos and audio files that I will use to demonstrate different concepts. I use analogies/word pictures to help you understand the material better. I have written and graded many tests and I will discuss different approaches to test taking.

I know what it takes to be an excellent student, but it took a me little while. My undergraduate years were not 'spectacular'. I didn't know how to study, but somehow I made it through. When I started my graduate studies I was convinced that I could do better. I discovered that I was primarily a visual learner, but also kinesthetic. I learned how to read for content, to take notes and study for exams. I ended up getting 3 graduate degrees including a PhD., something I thought I would never attain, and teach at a major university.
