"I've lived in Cincinnati for the past 44 years, and moved here to take a position in research at P&G. My career at P&G lasted over 26 years, when I resigned to work in the Construction Dept. of Habitat for Humanity, doing purchasing, scheduling, and hiring of subcontractors. My third career involved tutoring 3rd through 6th graders in small groups at an inner city elementary school, where I had volunteered after school hours prior to obtaining my teaching certification.
Volunteerism has always been an important component of my life, and I have often done this through tutoring math or reading to children and adults.
In the first place, I attended a high school in NYC which specialized in math and science, and took advanced calculus, differential equations, and computer math there. I kept up with a heavy load of math in college. I have quite a bit of tutoring experience working with friends and their kids over the years. I feel I have a knack for reaching out to my students' needs and addressing their weaknesses.
You'll find that my rates are lower than average and that I am flexible with the learning location. I would be pleased to work with you if you are earnest about mastering a mathematical subject. Please call or email me to discuss tutoring opportunities." less...
