"My specialty is writing. I taught high-school English for 28 years, and am still working at the college level, where I've taught Freshman Composition, Literature, and Introduction to Education. My students have consistently told me that I've helped them improve their writing skills more than they thought possible.

I focus on organization and grammar/usage, which I teach through such techniques as visual cues and online exercises which provide instant feedback. I teach literature in a similar fashion, having the students look at a writer's diction-- how he or she uses words-- and use of rhetorical devices, so that they can develop a "toolbox" of ways to convey their own ideas.
