"As an English, World History, and Writing teacher with six years of experience at The Howard School in Atlanta, I empower students with learning difference like ADHD, dyslexia, and executive functioning challenges. My B.A. in Secondary English Education fuels my passion to make education accessible, engaging, and transformative.
In my classroom, stories comes alive, revealing our shared humanity. I fuse pop culture and pioneering technology, continuously exploring how AI can enhance student engagement and critical thinking. By utilizing tools like AI-generated podcasts and study material via Google’s NotebookLM, I help students reflect on their work and synthesize ideas in new ways.
My interdisciplinary approach enriches every lesson:
1. 9th Grade World Literature: I collaborate with the World History teacher to create an integrated curriculum, immersing and deepening their knowledge of our shared history.
2. 12th Grade American Literature: I also partner with the Government and Economics teacher, blending literature with civic and economic concepts, fostering a deeper understanding of our world.
Whether studying classics or contemporary media, my teaching is infused with enthusiasm and emotional depth. I aim not only to teach English but also to help students find their voices and take command of their own narratives.
As a tutor, I offer:
1. Personalized English literature and writing instruction using a research-based curriculum inspired by The Writing Revolution.
2. Specialized strategies for students with learning differences, helping them unlock their full potential.
3. Innovative lessons integrating AI and technology, making learning engaging and relevant.
4. Support in executive functioning skills and metacognition, equipping students for lifelong success.
I’m committed to making education equitable, accessible, and exciting. Let’s embark on this learning journey together—I’m ready to help you succeed." less...
