Much of my University teaching experience, prior to many years teaching ESL in Turkey and Thailand, was in the computer application and networking field. I am possibly one of the leading experts in working with the Microsoft suite of computer applications.

My teaching experience has ranged from ESL to skiing lessons for asthma patients, geography, World and American history and all Microsoft Office applications, MCSE’s and Cisco certifications. I have a passion for working with non-native speakers in the ESL field. I have had extensive experience with corporate executives, students and professionals working on their dissertations or important presentations. My many years in University have honed my writing skills and have edited and served as a consultant on many academic papers and business proposals.

I graduated first from the University of Wisconsin (BS) with emphasis in History, International Economics and the University of Denver (MBA) Finance and Marketing. I earned my certificate for teaching English in 2007. The TEFL/TESOL certificate is the worldwide standard for Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL.)

I have had six years of English/ESL classroom experience abroad and have taught students from age 10 to 60. My ESL teaching focus is to help my students become well rounded in all elements of learning English.

Typically, students tell me that they want to learn to speak but that is only half of learning conversational English. The other part, and possibly an even more important element, is listening. Most students find that listening is more difficult than they anticipated and; without good comprehension of the other side of the conversation, real communication isn't possible.
