"Hello. I earned my Bachelors degree from the University of Michigan in Aerospace Engineering in 2018. I participated in rocket design teams during my undergrad with core strengths in math and structures engineering courses. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Systems Engineering from Oakland University. My past work history includes acoustic systems engineering for the Navy and am currently a robotics systems engineer for the Army. This professional work allows me to use the skills I've been building for most of my life while also gaining experience in developing and building products, but it all started with success in the foundational math and science courses that helped me graduate at the top of my high school class.
I have previously tutored one on one, in person, and mostly for family ranging from 12-20 years old. Most math and physics topics are strengths that I have taught in the past. I particularly enjoy teaching middle to high school aged students, as it is easier for my style. I found in past experiences that most success comes from creating connections between what most people think is an abstract subject to something common in everyday life. Creating and presenting interesting material is a critical first step in acquiring foundational knowledge to succeed, but am also open to other suggestions and material from students or parents as individual needs demand or prefer.
My goal in tutoring is to help create foundational knowledge and build confidence in a student's capabilities and to enable a student to achieve their goals of the future. A student's success is my success! I welcome any student who needs extra assistance or a creative spin on learning math and science. To fit into my schedule, I am only open to online sessions. Please reach out with other questions or scheduling a lesson!" less...
