My name is Rosie and I have just recently moved from Sao Paulo, Brazil to Winston-Salem, NC. I grew up in the capital of Brazil, Brasilia, and traveled all over Brazil. I have a Bachelor's degree in Communications from Universidade Metodista in Sao Paulo. I have lived in Ireland, Israel, and Italy and have taught Portuguese to people of all different backgrounds. I also taught English to Brazilians for 5 years at an English Academy in the heart of Sao Paulo.

I have plenty of experience teaching Portuguese to English speakers of different age groups and enjoy sharing cultural facts with my students. My personal approach to tutoring is engaging the students in conversation to practice the basic speaking and listening skills before focusing on writing and reading skills through lessons on grammar and vocabulary. I also believe a focus on pronouncing words correctly especially with a difficult language like Portuguese.
