"From a family of teachers, I love to help people of all ages and abilities to learn. At age 12, I began to tutor professionally, at the request of local parents, and have developed high skills at accommodating individual learning styles and needs. After teaching some years in public schools, I founded a successful alternative school, and then went on to receive a masters degree and teach further in orchestral conducting and music theory. Adding ten more post-masters years in environmental health science, my specialty in radiofrequency radiation bioeffects and making science accessible is very gratifying for me. Having worked for The Princeton Review and independently for years providing SAT & ACT prep, I am gratified to see students' much increased scores. An additional certification in ESL/ESOL has been wonderful in helping students around the world to hone their English; and I specialize in accent perfection. I love all subjects and feel very confident in making learning enjoyable for people of all ages." less...

Rating and Reviews

"Knows Writing Rules very well. Helped TutorZ edit a post."

Susan surprised me by improving the writing of one of my blog posts. I never knew when to put a semicolon in a sentence. Susan explains: "you will want to add a semicolon after [there], since the subject of the sentence changes."
