During my lessons, I break down SAT and ACT questions into simple, easy-to-understand steps, with strategies for every type of verbal and reading question. I love working with students one-on-one because it gives me a chance to identify strengths and weaknesses and make a tailored plan for success. I graduated from Bryn Mawr College magna cum laude and went on to earn my MA and PhD in history from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. I spent many years teaching history and gender studies at a prestigious liberal arts college, I advised and taught visiting international students at the University of California, Berkeley, and I even spent a couple of years teaching high school history. I now focus on verbal test prep for the SAT, ACT, and the digital SAT for international students. I have a proven record of improved test scores with students from around the world, and my high school students have gone on to attend UC Berkeley, UCLA, Amherst College, Reed College, Boston College, and many others.

I can also help you with Verbal SAT, ACT, PSAT, and SSAT. I also tutor elementary Latin and German, and all kind of history. I have worked as a consultant with the College Board on the AP World History and AP European History exams, and I am currently an AP Euro exam reader.
