"I offer tutoring in a wide range of subjects, including study skills, high school subjects, and test prep for the PSAT, SAT and GRE. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from UC Berkeley for undergrad, and then went to grad school at NYU, where I received a Ph.D. in Media, Culture, and Communication. On both the SAT and GRE, I scored in the 99th percentile overall and received perfect scores in the math and writing sections.

I work one-on-one with students to tailor to their individual needs. Typically, our series of sessions will start with an initial consultation and examination. I then study their work to evaluate their thought processes to help them improve not just on understanding the content of a particular subject, but in their heuristic thinking and problem solving frameworks. By making adjustments at a deeper level, the student is able to not only improve their scores in a specific subject or on a specific test, but apply helpful ways of thinking to subjects and problems they will confront in the future.

To me, improving grades or test scores is too often thought of as an end in itself and not as the byproduct of an active, engaged, curious mind.
