"Hello! My name is Kevin. I am a radiation therapist and have also worked as a tutor for over ten years, instructing various subjects ranging from English Language Arts to Mental Health and Wellness to SAT Mathematics. I've been employed with several companies including one awarded the Best of Brooklyn Award in the Tutoring Service category. I have worked with students of varying ages and catered to each student's unique learning style. I typically work with middle schoolers and high schoolers to prepare them for standardized exams and to ensure that they are competent in the topics they are being taught.
Working with students, I draw upon a student's knowledge of existing principles in other areas of study in which they excel and use it to connect ideas in the subjects they want to improve. By fostering their confidence and creating a passion for their area of improvement, students tend to learn better with each lesson being a personal 1-on-1 learning experience. Furthermore, my students have the full disposal of my personalized online resources during off hours. Keeping up with new mediums of education including PowerPoint and YouTube, and drawing upon cultural and pragmatic functions of education, I am the tutor made for the 21st century.
