"Dear parents and students,

I'm a full-time SAT and physics tutor with a love of teaching and a track record of improving students' scores.

Most of my SAT students improve their score by 250 points, some much more. Most of my physics students get in the A range on exams after working with me.

I've been tutoring for 3+ years. Before that, I founded and worked at technology startups. I graduated Cornell University with a degree in Materials Science and Engineering, where I did research on polymer physics and received A's in physics and math courses. Prior to college, I received the prize for top mathematics student in my high school and scored 780 on both the SAT verbal and math sections.

As a student, I had an intense math and science workload and came to appreciate having a teacher able to accomplish two main things:

1. Explain, in simple language, the intuition behind concepts and formulas so the student knows where they come from and feels good about working with them.

2. Match their teaching to the student's individual learning style.

As a teacher, I pride myself on being able to achieve both of these.

I also find that confidence strongly contributes to learning and academic success. I try to encourage students as much as possible and provide explanations that correspond with their own thinking process.

SAT tutoring:

I focus on breaking the preparation process into smaller, manageable parts, and teach proven, Kaplan-adapted problem solving tactics. I use diagnostic test results to hone in on areas of weakness.

I have taught students with a variety of learning styles including those with processing issues.

Physics tutoring:

I have a life-long love of physics and enjoy explaining concepts/laws and how they relate to the physical world. It is truly rewarding when a frustrated student is finally able to understand and solve challenging problems.

Logistics:

I offer lessons every day of the week and can travel to most areas in the city. Additionally, I offer online sessions for those unable to meet.
