"There is little in life that I love more than learning about the world around me. In fact, the joy that I get from math and science is second only to the joy that I get from sharing that knowledge with others. Unfortunately, subjects like chemistry and calculus are some of the most hated by students of all ages. I believe that this is not due to any innate fault in the material but rather it being presented in a way that is not tailored to the learning style of your individual student. Because of this, I really do think that anyone has the potential to be great in math and science.
My overall goal as a tutor is not only to help improve course grades and test scores, but also to help instill in others the same sense of wonderment that has me so enthralled by the scientific world as we know it. I am nothing if not enthusiastic. As a result, my approach is unique to each student with whom I work. No two students are alike in either their strengths or weaknesses, so I do my best to cater to those of each individual while maintaining a focus on inspiring a desire for continued, thorough comprehension of science. Chemistry can be challenging, but that is precisely what makes it so satisfying to master! I'm here to help you get to a point where chemistry is not only something you can DO, but something that you truly enjoy.
I specialize in chemistry, particularly general and organic chemistry, but am also well-versed in biology, and mathematics through basic calculus. I am in the third year of my undergraduate biochemistry degree at UT Dallas and am also minoring in public health. I served as a tutor all throughout high school and, in all honesty, it benefits me just as much as it does my students. I don't think there is any better way to learn material than to pass that knowledge along to someone else." less...
