"Hello potential students and parents! I am an enthusiastic teacher who loves the Sciences. My educational background is in both Art and Science with a Masters in the Art of Science Education from the University of South Florida, where I was the recipient of Noyce Scholarship in 2013. Since then, I've been teaching in the Bradenton/Sarasota area at both public and private schools. It is currently my goal to continue to teach middle and high school students on a more personalized level, where I can modify instruction to better meet individual learning needs. I possess both General Science and Biology (Gr 9-12 ) FLDOE certification, I have also taught humanities such art and religion.

As a science teacher, my goal is to make big topics and complex ideas easier to digest by breaking them down into relatable sizes. This can be done by using and creating visual cues and representations; anything from drawings, models diagrams to videos and labs (both real and digital). If you are struggling with science reading, I can offer methods that are both effective and efficient. Many of these best practice strategies are supported and described by the NSTA (National Science Teaching Association) of which I am a member. Although most of my experience has been in a classroom with larger groups, I know that many students can improve with customized assets available on their own term, meaning outside the traditional brick and mortar building. In all of my classroom situations, I have spent time working in customized small groups of 2-4, as well as with individuals whose needs are met with personalized strategies that make learning fun. I've been involved with after school tutoring as well as having volunteered with the Fresh Air Fund for students who need more reading support.
