The above quote by poet and playwright Bertolt Brecht sums up my desire to teach students.My goal is to inspire the next generation of scientists to use science as a tool to solve the problems facing mankind today. I have broad industry experience in science, I currently teaching certification in biology from the state of New Jersey.

My contributions to science have been extensive with over 12 publications submitted. These were accomplished by working as a biological scientist in preclinical drug discovery. After working for over 25 years at this endeavor, I have completed my lab work. Now, I hope to share my knowledge and grasp of science to cultivate a new generation of young scientists.

As the parent of two, as well as a coach and coaching assistant on my son’s and daughter’s sports teams I have experienced both the joys and challenges of working with children. Children’s points of view and unique perspectives are fascinating and need to be encouraged in our educational system. As a seasoned laboratory manager with more than a decade and a half of experience cutting broadly across multiple areas of specialization, I see that jobs are being sent overseas because of the shortage of good scientists educated in the United States.

Just recently, the human genome project was completed and the entire human genome has been sequenced. This has opened great opportunities in the area of disease therapies and many scientists are needed to work on information already compiled by the project. By teaching the next generation, I feel that I can pass my knowledge along and help expand the scientific community thus building the potential for future contributions. This in turn will lead to new scientific discoveries that can help solve unmet medical needs of the human race such as curing cancer and genetic diseases.
