I am an educator and biomedical scientist with a passion for teaching and mentorship in the sciences. As a Chemistry major (concentration in Biochemistry) at Washington University in St. Louis, I was invited to work as a teaching assistant for freshman through senior coursework in biology and chemistry (including General, and Biological Chemistry). As a graduate student journal club instructor, I had the privilege of guiding students in research ethics, study design, and biostatistics, fostering a supportive learning environment that encouraged intellectual curiosity and critical thinking. I have also been employed by a professional MCAT tutoring service, with a personal overall score in 98th percentile. I also bring my years of professional experience in academic biomedical research, with a strong record of advancing fostering mentee success.

My teaching style is characterized by a problem-based approach, in which I try to ground abstract concepts in practical and relatable vignettes. My greatest joy as a teacher is watching a student turn a content area weakness into a personal strength. You can expect me to ask probing questions to home in on your unique content area needs and provide specific strategies for improvement. As we build a teaching relationship, you can expect me to offer strategies for long-term success, particularly for those motivated towards continued coursework success in sciences. I seek to foster growth mindset during my sessions and am highly experienced in tutoring students with learning differences and neurodivergent backgrounds.
