"I am Mark. I am very pleased to meet you. I graduated summa cum laude in bioengineering from Texas A&M University in 1973. I was awarded a fellowship in biomedical engineering at the University of Virginia. I spent a year and a half in that program, with classwork equivalent to a masters degree, before deciding I would rather become a medical doctor and work helping people. I graduated from the University of Texas health Science center in San Antonio medical school in 1979. I practiced family
medicine for 39 years before retiring in 2018 . I was board-certified and recertified continuously throughout my career in the specialty of family medicine. Then I qualified myself for a teaching internship. I taught high school physics, and anatomy and physiology for one semester in the Ft Worth ISD.. Then decided I would rather focus my efforts on the students who really want to learn.
My talents and experience truly lie in the field of one on one teaching. Patient education was a major focus in my practice throughout my 39 year career. I was complimented daily on my teaching ability by my patients. I have a knack for taking seemingly complicated medical and scientific concepts and putting them in a language and frame of reference that works for you as an individual. If it’s science I will find a way to make it understandable for you. And that is my goal. I will assure that you’ve learned and gain the comfort of understanding you need to be successful in whatever you’re studying. Please feel free to contact me on this platform so that I can answer your questions, allay your concerns, and schedule your Tutoring sessions.
