"As an educator for 20 years, I have cultivated my experiences in the classroom with the students needs for their own personal achievements. I use techniques based on the individual child coupled with the areas of interest and this focus is a key to success. I strive to show all children that they are very capable of doing so much. Building their confidence is very important in sustaining the success that can come from extra time. I have worked to do this for my students every year and nothing is more gratifying or fulfilling then seeing a student achieve.

I enjoy teaching all subject matter but I specialize in Math and ELA. I have taught Math for 20 years. The grades ranged from 3rd to 7th. I have been a classroom teacher, basic skills teacher, and reading intervention specialist. I enjoyed all of these positions. Each one has offered a different insight into the art of learning from a child's perspective which in turn has made me a better teacher.

Personalized activities geared towards student needs and personalities. I taught several grades for many years. I know where the curriculum starts and goes year to year but more importantly how students think and respond at these different ages as well as what skills are lacking.

I am a reading intervention specialist. This experience has given me insight to the learning of language and information from children on a as needed basis as it pertains to advancing in reading "levels". Certain information and reading behaviors are needed and it is important to find what is missing or lacking to strengthen it.

Science is much different in the classrooms that I teach. They tend to be hands on and activity based. Children learn more by doing and seeing "it" in front of them. An example; we made a hovercraft in the classroom (working one). We discussed some of the scientific principles and took it further for a better understanding and mastery.
