"Screenwriting has been my life for the last twenty years. I wear many hats in this regard, both as an experienced instructor at UCLA School of Theater Film and Television. I have a comprehensive knowledge of Film History, and have created a number of Media Studies lectures.
There are two instructional objectives in screenwriting. Firstly, to create the best writing possible script, without all of the 'white noise' of worrying about the business aspects (just writing, analysis, writing!). Secondly, and only when a script is ready, consulting on how to actually get it to production companies. Actually, there's a third (and most important) objective: to have fun in the process!
I know that every student is different, which is why I offer a bespoke series of teaching options: ranging from extended classes and developing a full script from soup-to-nuts from an initial concept; through to script reads and evaluations of existing material; and even pitch coaching.
I have worked as a Senior Story Analyst at Amazon Studios, and an Editorial Analyst at Netflix.
My feature film "Savageland" - that I wrote, produced and directed - was released internationally by Terror Films in 2017. After premiering at Comic-Con, it played at 14 festivals and won 9 "Best Feature/Director" awards.
As a repped screenwriter, I have worked with production companies such as Bad Robot, Peter Chernin Productions, Clubhouse and Cross Creek.
If you have that burning screenplay idea that you want to turn into a reality - raw or polished - then I urge you to contact me. I am a nurturing instructor, dedicated to teasing out the best for a student, and I love it when the 'lightbulb' goes on when we've solved a problem together! And if you just want to test the waters, and workshop an idea before embarking on your writing quest, I would recommend a class to refine your concept and execution strategy!" less...
