"Hi, I'm Maelyn!

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Georgia where I was a University-employed peer tutor for 4.5 years. As a tutor, I enjoy helping students overcome their content insecurities and celebrating their achievements afterward. I was selected as a Lead Tutor and helped to supervise and mentor other tutors as they learned how to best help their peers as well. In all my sessions, I strive to create a welcoming environment for students where real and effective learning can take place.

Between tutoring agencies and freelance work, I have accumulated 6 years of tutoring experience in both high school and college math courses. I am a College Reading and Learning Association Level 3 certified tutor with over 1,000 hours of certified tutoring experience. My experience in a drop-in lab setting has allowed me to work with all kinds of students on a regular basis. I am able to work with all types of learning styles and enjoy working with the student to tackle problems. I not only have a deep understanding of the material but have had exposure to a wide variety of questions and question types, allowing me to be better able to help students with their problems.
