"My writing and analytical skills are well honed, and I have a warm yet exacting teaching style. As a litigation and criminal appeals attorney, I have written hundreds of legal documents and appeared in court to argue numerous cases before judges in New York, New Jersey, California and Washington State, which required my first taking and passing three different bar exams. In addition to practicing law, I have written judicial opinions as a law clerk, taught legal writing as an adjunct professor in law school, and mentored dozens of interns and junior attorneys. I am also certified in mediation, an area that depends on empathy and listening in order to succeed.
My professional life has been well balanced by my second job as a mother of two boys, one now in college and the other still in High School. Throughout their years in school, I have carefully monitored their writing and test-taking skills, making suggestions where necessary. Beginning in Second Grade, I provided my sons and their classmates with an introduction to the legal system by conducting mock trials using simple scenarios created by the class, and the books they were reading and discussing in English, such as Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry.
I am creative, patient and flexible, and able to communicate extremely complicated concepts and information in simple and understandable terms. I look forward to helping others succeed with their professional and scholastic endeavors." less...
