I've been a social worker since 2003. I came up through the field and now work in administration at the Florida Department of Children and Families. My academic areas of expertise are: history, psychology, social work, data analysis, research, writing and mentoring.

I do not believe there is such a thing as a "stupid question." All questions lead us to understand an issue or concept we are struggling to understand. I treat with my students with candor, respect and compassion.

I was the lead researcher at the Florida Institute of Child Welfare. During that time I wrote several papers for submission and utilization for addressing policy questions brought to us by the Florida Department of Children and Families. During my life I have been a top tier slam poet, an investigative news reporter and I have written a couple of books (not published at this time).

I have been interested in history since a young age. I have studied the following regions of the world extensively: Russia, China, Korea, Japan, Central Asia and much ancient history. In every action I take I approach it through the historical perspective - be it a single client, a system I am working with or an ongoing project. Understanding what happened which led to what outcome is critical to the study of history because it highlights the common human element and how we as people respond to situations in manners we have before.
