"Hello, my name is Madison! I graduated from Case Western Reserve University with my Master's in Social Work. I have a passion for education and have spent my time as a social worker supporting individuals with disabilities. I currently work with Young Adults who have a mental health diagnosis, helping them with the transition from high school to college. In my past experience I worked closely with students on the autism spectrum in an internship program we had at my place of work.
Students in high school would come and work with me in an office setting and learn valuable skills about a workplace, but more importantly I would assist them with whatever needs they were struggling with. Many students had a difficult time in school for a variety of different reasons and I would try to work with the student and their parents to understand a better way for them to learn. This internship program allowed me to work 1 on 1 with high school students and assess the best learning methods for each individual.
I am a passionate advocate who believes that everyone has abilities to do their best work when they are not forced to work in a manner that is destructive for them. I am always willing to learn and try different tactics that will best support the student I am working with. I am available to contact to discuss your unique needs and discuss if I am the best fit for you or your child. I look forward to meeting you!
Writing papers, reading, and being able to communicate are vital to our society. As a graduate student I excelled in writing, literature, and public speaking. Much of what I do not involves assisting students with editing their papers, understanding their reading comprehension, and assisting them with public speaking/powerpoint presentations. English is a strength of mine, and I would be happy to assist in your learning of the subject.
I am not proficient in Sign Language, nor am I certified but I took every Sign Language course available in my undergraduate program. I am able to hold a conversation" less...
