"Hi, I'm Aaron! I'm a long time software engineer with a some experience tutoring at the high school level. I graduated from MIT with a Master's in Computer Science and have worked at tech giants Oracle and Google. As a child, I attended then worked at an extra curricular school (IMACS) doing Computer Science, Discrete Math, and Electrical engineering. I've also tutored for friends, both then and recently. Recently, I helped a relative in high school get through all of trigonometry in just 6 sessions.
At MIT, I found that the most effective way to learn was to solve problems collaboratively that were just a bit too hard to solve on my own. It's clear to me that we understand little and remember less when we just listen. Let's get our hands on the work and make progress! If it's too hard to start, we'll break down the problems into smaller ones until they seem easy. For example, in trigonometry, problems that look complicated fall into place once we take the time to correctly label all of the sides and angles. We'll find an approach that leads to your understanding, whether it's graphs and numbers or examples from the physical world, music, videogames, space travel, etc.
As a less experienced tutor, I'm very open to feedback and suggestions. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson." less...
