"I completed my education at Iona College, from which I obtained a Masters degree in elementary education through the school’s career changer program in May of 2009. I spent the summers of 2007 and 2008 working as a summer tutor for the Yonkers Public Schools. During my last semester at Iona College, I completed my student teaching at Trinity Elementary School, a public school in New Rochelle, New York. I taught and observed in a third and first-grade classroom and I prefer working with younger elementary students. I am young and enthusiastic and dedicated to the teaching profession. I love tutoring and helping students be the best they can be. I am calm, detailed and flexible and speak both English and Spanish fluently.

I was part of the layout team, edited all stories, and wrote several stories for the newspaper. All this I did while maintaining a 3.5 GPA and dedicating myself to the Mercy College Honors Program, taking nine honors classes over the course of two years and being an advisor to the Honors Program. I am bilingual. I spent significant time working for Gannett newspapers based out of Harrison, New York. I have also written part-time for The News-Times in Danbury, Connecticut. I wrote sports stories, hard news, features, and pieces for 180, a Web site launched by the paper that caters to readers ages 18-28. I spent seven months working at a KinderCare Learning Center in Bethel, CT. There, I spent time as both a three’s and a four’s teacher. I also worked in the toddler and school-age classrooms. I’ve also worked at Kaleidoscope kids Preschool in Ridgefield, CT as a four’s and Kindergarten teacher. There, I worked with children ages 4-6 in the center’s four and kindergarten classrooms, wrote and taught theme-based lesson plans that varied each week, and engaged the kids with various types of learning and extracurri" less...
